We use only the best FDA-approved equipment, including the Splendor-X from Lumenis to provide you with your hair removal needs! Clients can notice immediate hair reduction with just one treatment! This technology attracts itself to dark pigment in the hair follicle with the goal being to destroy the follicle.
The laser is attracted to pigment in the hair follicle with the goal being to destroy the follicle forever . The average client will need 8-10 treatments. Your body has three different cycles of hair growth. The Anagen ( growth phase), Catagen Phase (transition phase), and the Telogen Phase (resting phase). Laser Hair Removal works when it is in the active growth phase which is called the anagen phase. This is why you need more than just one treatment.
Unfortunately, Laser Hair Removal does not work at this time on blonde, red ,or grey hairs. The laser does not see it to pick it up, the laser is attracted to color pigment in the hair follicle. Reds, strawberry blondes, and dark blondes will not work. We do hope as technology advances this will change in the future!

What areas do we treat?
We regularly treat all areas of the body for both men and women to reduce unwanted hair. Common treatment locations include legs, underarms, upper lip and chin, as well as the bikini line. The only exceptions are areas over tattoos and eyelids. Below is a breakdown of body areas we treat along with the size category they fall under.

Laser Hair Removal Pre-Treatment

Avoid sun exposure on the treated area 4 weeks before treatment.

Self tanners and spray tans need to be completely gone on the treatment area.

No tweezing, waxing, threading, depilatories, or bleaching 4-6 weeks prior and during the treatments on the treatment area.

Please shave 12-24 hours prior to treatment. There are two reasons for this. If you have hair on the epidermis, the surface of skin you could have an adverse reaction due to heating up that hair follicle. Another very important reason is that it creates a faster pathway to get down to the hair follicle and destroy it.

If not shaven, a $35.00 shaving fee will be applied if we have to shave the area. This does not apply to small areas like the lip or chin.

Treatment areas must be clean prior to treatment. This includes makeup, lotions, perfumes and deodorant.

Discontinue photosensitive medications 1 week before treatment. If you are on something you can't go off of we will do a test spot and wait 48 hours to see how your skin reacts and have you come in for treatment after 48 hours. If you have questions about photosensitive medications or supplements please call the office. We have a list. We do consider Fish Oil and St. John's Wort to be photosensitive for laser. Again, any questions about photosensitive medicine or supplements please call.
You will be given a post-care sheet right after treatment.
